A quality example of the corner chair.  Originally called the “roundabout” chair, this design first appeared at the beginning of the 18th century.  This particular example dates from the early 1900’s, is made from beech and has beautiful inlay (marquetry) in a blond wood (possibly maple).  It has been fully restored by a professional upholstered and finished in a stylised floral cotton fabric by Blendworth (a British fabric company specialising in quintessential English designs with a contemporary twist).  This chair would be lovely in a study, bedroom or hallway.
